Smell of chocolate, licorice, tar. Black, no head. Zero carbon?! Aroma of berries, rum. Surprisingly watery. Pretty much of a disappointment.

A black beer with a nice, brown and medium head. The nose of salt liquirice, nice roastiness, some smoke and tar liquirice candys, hint of vegetables. Taste is strongly roasted and even slightly burned and chalky, salt liquirice, syrup like sweetness, hint of vegetables. In the end there are nice herbal bitterness. Medium+ bodied, smooth to drink. Unfortunately, hint of vegetables bothers the enjoyment. Nice and slightly smoky porter.

Dark opaque black/ruby color, vanishing beige head. Licorice, roasted milky aroma. Medium-bodied. Quite active carbonation. Licorice, light milkyness, toasted malty. Quite simple, but clean and tasty.

(Keg at OlutExpo 2013 as Vahvaportteri) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had roasted malts, coffee and liquorice. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, liquorice, sweetness, coffee and bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty and bitter. A tasty and clean brew.

33 cl bottle @ 101 Beers, BBE 07/2014
Aroma is quite light with some licorice, syrupy notes and malt. Flavour has syrupy and sweetish malt, some licorice, hints of soy sauce and cocoa. Also some toffee typical to English ales occur at the middle of the glass. Fenol-like alcohol lurks in the background but does not disturb. A bit straightforward and thin for this ABV and the syrupy notes do disturb. Not bad anyway.
