The inspiration to Lighthouse Watchman came from Czech style Pils/Lager style beers. Hence the beer is not filtered, apart from cold crashing, which means the beer is chilled down close to freezing before bottling. During this process all the particles sink to the bottom or the fermenting tanks. The non-filtering leads to a nice smooth bready flavor, which wouldn’t be the case if filtered. The more rounded up flavour also makes the beer suit well for food, among others some harder cheeses, spicier food and sea food go really well with this.

33cl bottle (part of a set of four bottles) bought onboard Aurora Botnia from Umeå til Vaasa. Pours hazy yellow with a modest, white head. Grainy, herbal and slightly grassy with hints of yeasty. Moderate sweet with low to medium flavour intensity and bitterness on the lighter side. Somewhat peculiar, but fairly drinkable Fair enough.

Bottled. Hazy golden body, big, relatively lasting white head. Herbal, peppery aroma, lean, lightly flowery. Herbal, lean, bitter taste, some weird husky/vegetal touches here too. Crisp, well carbed. Okay.

Flaska från butik i Finland. Smågrumlig ljusguldig med vit krona. Ganska söt med mycket honung och maltsötma i arom och smak. Lätt gräsig och örtig med snäll avslutande beska.

A hazy and golden beer, a head is white and medium. Aroma has grain and grassy hoppyness. Good. Taste has grain and grass, low bitterness but it's still enough. Medium bodied, nicely smooth. The first beer for me from this brewery and succesfully. Grain, good beer.

33 cl bottle, BBE 27.08.2018. Aroma is strong with herbal tones and grass. Some minerals too. Flavour has butter, grass, herbs and minerals. A bit dry and has diacetyl tones - but they seem to fit here anyway. Not the most typical pils but perhaps a Bohemian one.
