The name Daisy’s Favorite is a nod to one of The Great Gatsby’s iconic characters, and to the story’s defiant embrace of illegal spirits during the Prohibition era. The idea for this beer began when we secured some unique once-filled gin barrels made of new American oak. We then aged our Helldorado blonde barleywine in these barrels for 14 months to maximize the oak influence. The result is a rarity: a gin barrel-aged beer with all of the floral botanical goodness you might expect, masterfully married with wood-inspired flavors of vanilla, caramel and baking spice.

12oz bottle from Tavour. Golden , cloudy, fine white head. Aroma is lime, citrus, juniper. Taste continues tart, lime, evergreen. Not overly sweet or boozy. Enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours clear orange. Small beige head, good lacing. Aroma is herbal, orange peels, caramel, gin. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter. Kinda hot. Boozy. Merlin body. Gin works better on Saisons, i think.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours translucent amber with a decent creamy white head. Aroma of gin with light wood notes. Arguably full bodied. Flavor is mildly roasty malt - rather blondish - paleish - with juniper, notes of non-musty wood, and something spicy which is not chili, not pepper, not Xmas - almost making me think of stuffing. Dry. Not really bitter, unless gin is considered to be that. It is extremely delicious. Love gin :)
