We took our Scottish ale, the Dirk, which was named after a handsome, yet grumpy German Shepherd, aged it in an aromatic bitters barrel, and blended it with our 2022 Bourbon barrel aged Old Man Dirk.

On tap at the Garden City brewery/taproom. Cloudy brown with redish edges. Thin wispy skin of bubbles. Woody barrel age character with some sweet “bitters” notes. Malty and smooth. Under carbed maybe. Interesting

taster at Barbarian GC. Mahogany pour, small beige foamy head. Aroma is malty, sweet, tobacco, light peat. Taste is malty and sweet, with the booziness really coming out, sassafras, leather.

On tap at the brewery pours out dark brown topped with a tan head. Nose is nice sweet malts gramcracker big barrel notes and some mint. Taste is more of the nice sweet mint big barrel and some rootbeer sweetness.
