12oz bottle pours a dark brown/black with plenty of brown head. Nose is mild, or milder than you'd expect, molasses, booze, caramel, licorice. Flavor is smooth but sticky and sweet, licorice, molasses, Kahlua, black pepper, cheap chocolate chews. Finishes full bodied, sweet, a touch of booze, but fairly smooth.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, small, thick, creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, brown head. Chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, vanilla, treacle, some coffee, Kahlúa, hints of toffee and nougat. Taste is slightly dry woody, sweet-ish dark malty, notes of toffee, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, cocoa. Oily texture, smooth and soft palate, full body, lingering malty finish. Nice to find such a rich and complex beer clearly outside the double-digit abv-area.

Bottle from trade with Namebeer00, many thanks Kuba! Viscous black with a brief beige head. Leathery aroma with cocoa powder and light peat. Taste is more peaty and grainy with leather, cocoa, whisky and liquorice. A bit too much whisky for my liking.

Bottle (thanks Kuba). Pours black with beige head. Aroma is sweet, oak, malt, vinous, roast. Flavor is sweet and bitter, roast, malt, vanilla, chocolate, oaky-vinous-whiskey notes. Finish is sugary and roast bitter. Overall: very good, bit too sweet.

At a tasting, thanks, almost no head, opaque black color, aroma of dark chocolate, vanila, wood and umami and whiskey spiciness notes, flavor of dark bread, bittersweet chocolate, whiskey woodiness and smokey and charred hints, mellow light to medium sweetness. Highly enjoyable and a great after dinner beer.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L's place. Thanks Stas & Max. Black, tan foam. Roast, chocolate, some coffee, oak, vanilla, a bit of licorice, some soy sauce, sweet, some umami, quite full-bodied, rounded mouthfeel. Great.

Tap @Luppolo Station in Rome. Black pour with a regular medium-tall coffee-cream head. Nose: it recalls the whiskey whose barrel it rested, not much more. Mouth: well...as the aroma. Just solid.
