Only the oldest and grandest crowns emerge at the top of the forest’s overstory. Overstory Peated Reserve is our longest barrel-aged and most grandiously peaty imperial stout with deep flavors of dried fruit, fine cigars and redolant chocolate.

2023 vintage @ 12.9%. 12 oz can. Pours a very dark brown with moderate tan head. Aromas of chocolate, marzipan, subtle whisky and soft roasted malts. Flavors follow same with whiskey a bit more pronounced and to me quite subtle peat. Warm finish. Very Nice.

500ml bottle from Tavour. Cellared. Dark brown pour,fizzy beige head a few bubbles remain. Woody aroma, heavy peat notes, sweet, malty, smoky. Taste is malty, sweet, light roast, woody, peat, chocolate, smoky. Pretty intense flavors but really smooth. Light bitterness lingers with a little smoothness.

Way too malty. Sweet. Faint peat/smokiness. Disappointing. Probably dumping on the lawn.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is very peated and smoky, with plenty of roasted malt, some sludgy earthiness, and a hint of iodine. Flavour is full of peated whiskey, with medium roast, some earthiness, and a hint of iodine. Peated, smoky finish, with light residual sweetness. Not the most complex or elegant impie, but the peated whiskey character is pretty great, so I enjoy this.
