We recently welcomed the guys from Amundsen as part of our European collaboration series. Did we want to brew up something light and crisp that would cool you down in the june 'heat'... hell no, not on this occasion! It was a go hard or go home situation, so here we have it, a 12% Russian Imperial Stout!
Brewed with the addition of cocoa, coffee and marshmallow, Mallow Mafia will rip your head off at the first chance it gets, but treat it with respect and it'll no doubt be your new best friend. Each intense addition to the beer will pop out on your palate before leading onto a warming, rich and bittersweet finish.

Draught @ Mig & Ølsnedkeren. Pours black with a small brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, sweet chocolate, candy, licorice, marshmallows. Flavor is sweet, rich malty, caramel, candy like, licorice, marshmallows, alcohol. Full body, average carbonation, sweet finish with loads of alcohol warmth. 050319

Tap @ Mig & Ølsnedkeren, 12%. Black with small brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, cocoa and marshmallow. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, cocoa, marshmallow, sweet, warming, little liquorice and notes of alcohol.

Draft @ BrewDog, Malmö. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty vanilla chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate bitter vanilla flavor. Has a roasted malty vanilla chocolate bitter finish.

Botella 33 CL en Cimmeria 07..01..2019 (r107). Color negro intenso con espuma beige oscuro que desaparece al poco tiempo casi por completo. Sabores maltosos tostados con toques de cacaos y suaves café que resultan algo secos en cierto momento. Suaves dulces de golosina que lo suavizan todo. Cuerpo medio a intenso con buena sensación alcohólica desde el principio. Fina en boca aunque parece quedarse algo seca al final. Bastante buena, bastante sabor, para repetir sin duda.

On draft at BrewDog Leicester. Dark brownish black with a ring of tan head. I get the marshmallow in the aroma but also black cherry, vinous tannins, some vanilla. Tastes sweet with a bit of a smoky burn. More bitterness near the end of the sip, and a slightly acrid finish. Unlike most BrewDog strong beers, this feels a bit unbalanced and messy, although it's still a decent drop and comes recommended well enough by jjsint, just don't expect fireworks.

Bottle courtesy of Geraint and Helen (cheers you two) We're listening to Marc Riley on 6 Music Wednesday 9th January 2018 Chilli for tea with home made tomato salsa and guacamole. Pours black with a beige head. Really thick in the mouth, sweet but with a lovely soft chocolate and toffee ice cream flavour. Not sure if there is marshmallow in this but you can sort of get that flavour also. A very good beer. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov17 4.1

Bottle shared with JMD at JFE 29.12.18. Ebony. Small dark brown head. Aroma and taste of dark chocolate, dark caramel, brittle, marshmallows and coconut. Lingering bitterness is balancing caramel sweetness.
