Francuskie wcielenie rodzeństwa Wheat Wine, który nabrał ogłady dzięki leżakowaniu w beczkach po czerwonym winie. Pobyt w drewnie wniósł do piwa aromaty wanilii, rodzynek i melasy, a w smaku przełożył się na perfekcyjne ułożenie i nadał całości dystyngowanego winnego charakteru.

Bottle, cellared this one for almost 1.5 years. Pours copper with quickly disappearing off-white head. Nose is booze, lightly toasted wood, a touch of vanilla, a touch of orange perhaps? Kinda oxidized but in a pleasant way. Taste is nicely balanced, mainly sweet notes of booze, grains, wood, somewhat spicy, notes of oxidization are there again. Pretty smooth, almost creamy. Long sweet and warming finish, light to medium body but definitely drinks below the ABV. Soft carbonation. Nice and round, but not outstanding.

Sampled at Warsaw Beer Festival, spring 2018. A quite nice but rather straight forward barley wine. Rather sweet, even for a BW with malt, caramel, dry fruit and brown sugar. I think the wine and wood part is a bit hidden and the alcohol becomes a bit boozy. Nice but nothing extraordianry. I might be affected by the amount of beers tasted at this point and would definitively taste this again if possible.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is sweet malt with strong wood, sweet dried red fruits, red wine, bit vinous, and syrup. Flavour is quite sweet and syrupy with a little booze. Body is medium. Very sweet with some nice red wine BA notes, very syrupy and a bit boozy, overall I'd hoped for a bit more from this one.

Bottle shared at Leightons place, Hackney. 8/11/2018. Thanks to Kenny for this one. A deep orange coloured pour with a lasting off white head. Aroma is sweet jammy fruit, raisin., cake, light must, jammy apricot. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, tangy raisin. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, jammy, apple, light musty, cakey malts. Palates i s semi sweet, moderate carboantion, . Nice. Nice malty raisin.

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Ken. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. Tasty stuff, some pale sugars, tangerine meringue, alcohol. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, some pale bread, ripening citrus, more meringue. Fun stuff.

Bodney towers tasting. Light haze on this amber beer, small cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry finish. Decent fine carbonation. Smooth creamy malts based on a light raw grainy sweetness. Ripe orangey citrus, some orange peel. Light semi dry spicy finish. Tidy.

Bottle. Color: Clear reddish brown, beige head. Aroma: Sweetish, hints of wheat, red fruit. Taste: Over medium sweet, notes of red wine, wheat, dried dark red fruit, molasses, hints of vanilla and caramel, sweet whipped cream Boozy, warming mouthfeel. Just over medium body, below average carbonation. Moderate fruity bitterness, more recognizable at finish. Bit sticky, sirupy. Although it's pretty sweet, it's actually quite nice.
