My reason for ordering this beer goes threefold. Number one: I’m at Brews Almighty and this is the last beer on their tap list that is not on my rated list. Number two: Chris (Prufrockstar) has practically called this a godsend pale and he has excellent taste and judgement. Three: Boneyard is some good shit. I stopped by their little garage brewery a couple years ago and since they expanded, it’s been on my to do list to return. The beer. Pours a golden copper color with a big bubble head. Poured into the signature Brews Almighty plastic cup. Yay for recycling. Soft aroma of piney hops. Flavor is heavy pine and earthy hop. Bitter comes in late and lingers. Has a larger than expected sweetness throughout. Bolder flavor and bitter. Less my style of pale for sure but I wouldn’t call it bad. Chris, I’ll give you a mulligan on this one. UPDATE: Much deserved retry. Draft pint at Toronado. Lower sweetness, melon character, solid hop profile. Much better than the firstraditional time through. Pretty good.

GABF 2014. Pours a clear golden appearance with a tan head. The aroma is a little dull with some grass and cracker notes. Light citrus, toasted malt, cracker, orange candy, and herbal notes in the flavor. Ok.

On tap at FWIBF. Pours with a clear golden hued body and a white head. Aromas are grassy, grainy, grapefruit, cohumulone, resiny, pine and citrus. Flavors are dry, grassy, mildly grainy and very floral. Lively carbonation and a light body.

Tap at OBF. Pours translucent amber with a creamy white head. Earthy/floral hop aroma. Roast malt backbone. Near full bodied. Flavor is floral/fruit/earth. Finishing nicely bitter.

Tap at the brewery, 23/05/13. Lightly hazed pale blonde with a good sized white head. Nose carries hops, pine, grass, bitter orange, grapefruit. Taste comprises bitter grapefruit, fresh hops, orange pith, light pine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation, good dose of hop bitterness in the finish. A most decent APA.
