Quiet Storm is a unique series of single hop showcases. Using some of our favourite hops varieties, the ambition of this project it to really highlight the full spectrum and capability of each individual variety through precise application at different stages of brewing. First released in 1972, this ‘godfather’ of modern hops is used for aroma, bitterness and flavour. Cascade is famous for its refreshing and zesty grapefruit character with floral notes throughout.

1/I/24 - 44cl can from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ the Abeels’ place, BB: 14/IX/25(.3), R23421 (2024-1)
Clear blond yellow beer, small aery irregular white head, unstable, falls down quickly, a bit adhesive. Aroma: a little floral, straw, hay, meh. What is this? Smells nothing hoppy at all! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, grassy, pretty metallic, some citrus notes, a little fruity. Aftertaste: bitter, grassy, a bit metallic, resinous, rather unpleasant. Did they choose 12 months after the canning date as the best by date? That means the beer was already 5 months old or even more? I had just bought it. Very disappointing.

Tap at Kulový blesk. Clear golden body, white head. Yoghurty, grainy aroma, nice berry touches, light caramel. Clean maltiness creates a background, sweetish, for a nice berry, fruity, floral touch, but that not big enough to thrill. Lean enough. Okay overall, uneven, likely due to not being fresh.

Rocky white head on a slowly carbonating clear golden coloured body. Dusty, pine & malt aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a sharp clean back. Light malt, grain, bitter citrus, pine & sharp citrus tastes. Clean.

440ml can from Thornbridge Beer Club - clear yellow body with a firm white head. Citrus and pine notes throughout. Decent enough addition to the series.

Can. Thornbridge box. Clear gold. Fine lasting white head. As with others in this series the malts are lovely and clean. Hops on top are piny and full of orange peel. Bright and fresh. Nice one.
