Optisch klares Gold im Glas, in der Nase Getreide, im Trunk alkoholisch, Getreide, süß, bitter, bisschen plädderich. Da gibt’s bessere.

500ml bottle. Opalescent, orange golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, minimally starchy, pale malty and minimally yeasty fruity aroma, hints of honey, yellow apple, weak phenolic overtones. Taste is sweet-ish and minimally grainy, pale malty, minimally yeasty fruity, mildly bitter, slightly earthy, grassy, hoppy counterpart, hints of honey, leaves, even tobacco, a touch of red and yellow apple. Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, minimally dry and minimally cloying palate, medium, scattered, mildly prickly carbonation. A tad disharmonious, heterogeneous, not really well integrated hop flavours; at least not as starchy as many other helle Böcke - OK.

Brauerei Simon Bock hell, Flasche von Ambrosetti. - Satt goldgelb, blank. Bestenfalls Durchschnitt. Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - golden and clear with steady carbonation. Solid looking snow white head. Nose - caramel, honey and bread. Taste - bread, caramel, light sultana and a general muesli feel. Palate - light to medium bodied, a bit sweet. Overall - decent example of the style.

0,5 l bottle from Hol´Ab!, Ahlhorn. BB 25.04.2025. Clear golden with a small one finger white head in the glass. Grainy aroma, grassy elements, bitterhop. Taste starts bitter hopy with grain, an acoholic sharpness, metallic hints, low floral elements and honey in the background. Typical Heller Bock.
