Made with volcanic water apparently. Not sure what that brings to this, but it's great. Raisins & red wine, with gentle oak and whiskey in the finish.

A light haze on this deep amber beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, modest fine carbonation. Soft caramel malts, a little dark toffee. Soft whisky soaked fruits and a little ripe citrus. Soft orange peel and whiskey linger. Good stuff, very easy drinking.

Bottle shared at tasting. Thnx Joes! Clear chestnut red-brown color, small white to off-white head. Aroma is malts, wood, whiskey barrel aging very clearly but definitely an addition and not ove the top at all. Wow, this is something else! Flavor is malts, warming brown malt and brown candy sugar mouthfeel, light distant candy notes. A lot of different flavors, quite complex but very well blended together. Full body, soft carbonation.

0.33 l bottle from 'DeBiersalon.nl', best before September 2048. Clear, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of molasses, caramel, figs, elderberry, whisky and some vanilla. Rather sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently fruity, minimally vinous but rather boozy taste of molasses, caramel, figs, elderberry, vanilla, whisky and light red wine, followed by a long, gently bitter, fairly boozy finish. Medium to full body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Lovely beer even if very boozy, fairly intense and complex, might benefit a bit from aging though. Might try some more beers from Menno to get a sense of the old De Molen stuff again, maybe.

Bottle. Color: Clear amber, thin beige head. Aroma: Caramel malt, dried fruit. Taste: Malty, caramel, dried dark fruit (raisins, dates) and stone fruit, boozy notes. Hints of almonds and nuts. Moderate to over moderate hopbitterness. Over moderate to medium sweetness. Full body, below average carbonation. Long lasting finish. Very nice.

Draft @ EL Birrot.
