[Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell.] An opaque, peaty brown coloured pour with a tight beige head; aroma of chocolate malts and bitter roasted coffee beans; smooth malty body with some milky chocolate and a firm woody bitterness; then a dry finish with lingering milk chocolate. Rather good.

Cask at the moon under water Watford Jdw. A jet black coloured pour with a lasting khaki head. Aroma is nice earthy roast, char, liquorice campfire. Flavour is composed of singed pine, sap, Douglas fir, resinous pine, tar, mild roast.. Verging into black ipa territory. Palate is semi sweet, sticky hop, moderate carbonation. Good.

Cask (gravity) at Standing Order, Derby. Pours almost black with minimal cream head. There’s chocolate and roasted malts in the aroma. In the mouth it is creamy with a slight bitterness, with roasted malts again prominent alongside coffee grounds and chocolate. Some dark fruits can be detected later as well. Finish keeps the slight bitterness. This is rather nice.

Cask handpull at The Barrel Vaults St Pancras. Black beer. Lasting tan head. Oakham don't do a lot of stouts but when they do you, have to take notice. Its a citrus fruity charcoal stout. Lime on aroma. Charcoal stout with some dark fruits in the mouth. Then a dry citrus fruit finish. A bit odd. Fine but odd.
