Can shared at the CBJ tasting, thanks to Fergus, 12/06/24. Black with a khaki cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is chocolate, dark malts, spice, dried red berries, toffee. Taste comprises mellow roast, ligth spice, herb, minced meat, cocoa sprinkle. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light kiss of booze. Not bad.

Can shared at CBJ - Bermondsey. Cheers to Mr. Frog. Pours clear, black-brown with a bubbly, tan head. Medium to big sweet flavour with well toasted autumnal spices, dark malts, light roast, nips of cocoa. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Slight warmth to finish, more toasted spices, low bitterness, a little ashy dryness. Enjoyable, festive ale.

Cask @ Victorian Craft Beer Cafe, Halifax. One of their Back In Black Beer Festival beers. Winter-spiced in both aroma and taste, and aftertaste, its boozy character is equally a factor here. Heavy and mildly sticky-sweet in texture. Has a Christmas pudding quality, which I assume was the idea.
