The Hobgoblin was the name of one of the first pubs I frequented when I moved to London at the age of 18. It's now called The Rose. Clear golden with a fine enough hoppiness and easy strength - not thin or weak tasting at all. Pretty good session material here.

Boring but not undrinkable. Some sun-kissed bready pale malts, citric hops, nip of yeast, grassy bitterness. OK.

Can. Clear gold with small white head. Light malty caramel, biscuit with a hint of citrus and grassy hop. Taste has a light biscuit watery malt with apricot and grassy bitter hops - but pretty stale tasting in truth. Not great.

Can at home, thanks to Michael, 26/08/24. Clear golden with a lasting just off white head. Nose is grass, herb, grains, biscuit, faint citric nip. Taste comprises dull fruit esters, perfume, toasted grains, faint orange, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Twig brewer attempting craft style ... not great.
