Fremont Brewing began as a dream in 2008. Years later, our dream has come true in each and every one of you, our craft beer family. And like every family, we have had our ups and our downs, but we keep coming back together knowing we are stronger together. In your hands is a special nod to you, a gift for now that will continue to give many years from now should you have the patience to wait…Brew 7000. This English-style barleywine ale uses floor-malted English barley, Noble hops, and is aged in 10-15 year-old, single use bourbon barrels for 16 months to bring you a complex and subtle craft beer flavor experience. We brewed this to celebrate brewing our 7000th brew, and we look forward to sharing it with you, our craft beer family. “Barleywine Is Life.” – VWP

From a bottle. Heavy palate. English style so sweet rather than hops. Bourbon character is minimal.

US Pint bottle at Benny’s place. Poured a slightly murky dark brown colour with a round off-white head. The aroma is molasses, boozy alcohol. The flavour is over moderate sweet, with a silky smooth, rich, earthy, toffee caramel, molasses, big boozy alcohol bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Big, rich and smooth. Very drinkable.

Green waxed bomber, picked up at Lupulo in Santa Cruz, pours with a nice deep dark murky mahogany colored body that supports a nice tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a blend of caramel, molasses, plums, stewed dates, a sort of woody maltiness that flows into supple bourbon notes rimmed with more molasses like notes. Nice. The taste is just what you want and more. I'm getting smooth slick sweet malts, molasses, thin ribbons of caramel and then a pool of plumie, datie sweet dark fruity esters. Nice! To midway the barrel treatment bubbles to the surface and thins out the body a tad as the supple sweet bourbon and additional molasses notes elbow into the experience. Into the finish a mild sense of oak teams up with a warming booziness to help take this into the after taste. Great sipper.

Bomber from Boise Co-op. Dark brown pour, fine ring of head. Aroma is brown sugar, toffee, raisins, boozy. Taste is sweet, dates, raisins, fig, sweet, molasses, warm. Sweetness lingers on the palate, latent warmth in the gullet. Excellent.
