Ceramic mug at the Roppelt-keller, of course! Thanks Joakim I think. Green apple wafts a bit from the aroma backed by some caramelly maltiness. Smooth, light, pleasant taste, caramelly and lightly grainy, not much hoppiness noted. Lightly flawed but quite decent!

8/VII/24 - on tap, shared @ Roppelt Bierkeller, (Hallendorf, DE), BB: n/a (2024-529)
Pretty clear dark amber to orange beer (hard to tell as it was poured in a ceramic mug), creamy dense off-white head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the … mug. Aroma: malty, grains, caramel, nice! MF: ok carbon, medium body, very creamy texture. Taste: nice, very rich malty flavours, caramel, gentle bitterness, a little sweet, nice! Aftertaste: gentle bitterness, a bit grassy, hoppy, soft malty flavours, rich and lovely lager!

500ml bottle. Minimally milky, amber colour with average, frothy to creamy, slowly diminishing, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, caramel malty and slightly yeasty fruity aroma, hints of mirabelle, apricot, some honey. Taste is minimally nutty, caramel malty with low residual sweetness, mildly bitter, grassy-spicy hoppy and slightly yeasty fruity, hints of mirabelle, apricot, a touch of thistle, honey, nougat, pear. Creamy texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Well crafted, well balanced, well controlled sweetness, nice yeasty fruity flavours - good!

0.5 l bottle from 'Bierothek' (online), best before November 2023. Hazy, deep reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, gently floral and a bit fruity aroma of caramel, honey, sultanas and some nuts. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly floral and a bit fruity taste of caramel, honey, nuts, grains and light sultanas, followed by a short, moderately bitter finish. Medium to full body, very smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant Franconian lager, typically smooth, super harmonious. Quite good for a Märzen.

500ml Bottle - Amber with a slight haze. Biscuity and nutty aroma with hints of sultanas. Biscuity taste with walnuts, toffee, sweetish rye and some earthy notes. Nicely balanced and full of character.

In the stone mug. Amber with creamy, white head. Aroma a mix of caramel, toast and herbs. Taste is bitter with a caramel sweetness playing out around the edges. Finishes herbal bitter. Medium-bodied, mild carbonation. Great balance. Drank this along with the Kellerbier at the Roppelt Keller and this was the better of the two. Nice!

Tap:(@Roppelt’s Keller): Colour unknown, because served in a stein, creamy and lacy (off-) white head, clean sweet malty nose with a distinctive floral bitter backbone; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, a bit fizzy; lingering and slightly drier bitter and sweet-malty finish. Another franconian goody…
