Svart. Kortlivd luftig skum med litt farge. Vinøs aroma. Tørket frukt. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken rosiner, svisker & litt alkohol. Tørr bitter avslutning. Varer lenge.

500ml bottle, batch nr. 2719, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Slowly fading light brownish head leaving scattered lacing on the glass, almost coal black body. Attractive aromas of dried, dark fruits and caramel malts. Powerful and fine balanced taste character with moments of prunes, raisin, caramel, and yeasty fruitiness. Smooth. Long-lived finish, not overly sweet. Full bodied, but it does not taste that strong. Perfect autumn sipper on a Sunday afternoon. (Tromsø, 22.10.2023).

0,5 flaske fra den statlige postordrekatalogen, delt egoistisk med meg selv: viskøs utskjenking, brunsvart med kort skum. Mørke karamellsjokolader, sviskeplommer, brandymarinerte rosiner, dessertkaffe, marsipan engelsk lakris og hint av gammeldags grunnsmøring for treski. Og den smører effektivt beingrinda og nervevraket samtidig som den etterlater seg en lang og saliggjørende mersmak.

Bortimot svart med beige skum. Lukter mørke stenfrukter, røstet malt. Smak av mørk sjokolade, karamell og svisker. Mye sødme i avslutningen. God:-) Cafe Sara 17. August 2023

YG 160923. Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma is alcohol, raisin, vinous. Flavor is alcohol, raisin, hop, roasted malt, vinous, dried fruit, toffee, yeast. Nice beer.

Bottle. It pours an almost still body under some dark beige bubbles. Deep mahogany. The aroma is quite vinous and alcoholic, with lots of dark dried fruit scents, some bread and toffee, hints of cocoa and dark chocolate, a spiced yeastyness and a vague touch of Belgian yeast style banana. Mostly on the Quad side this aroma, but it sort of bumps into Weizenbock too. It's full-bodied, warming and quite soft on the palate, smooth and with a decent bitterness growing stronger towards the end. Not too sweet. Vinous flavor too, dark fruit, dark dried fruit, prune and raisin, some cocoa and hints of dark chocolate and even coffee. Spiced, peppery yeastyness, banana split, hazelnut, gingerbread except for the ginger, or perhaps honey cake without the honey, if that gives and meaning, cherry pits, generic boozyness and a good dash of caramel. Lasting warming and flavorful finish. Sure a nice one, pushing the boundaries of the Quad style, both with regards to ABV and also slightly with regards to flavor profile. I like it, for sure, but I think the ABV is pushed too far. Wonderful complexity though. 230915
