Keg at Mother Arch 2, 25/05/23. Black with a good sized lasting khaki head. Nose is dark malts, baking powder, cooking chocolate, earth roast, charr, dried fruit rinds. Taste comprises bittter roast, ashen tones, cocoa powder, pine nip, fruit rinds, charr, faint liquorice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close spiked with earthy hop bitterness. Solid gear.

Bottle picked up at Kihoskh and drunk at home (19/05/2023) - black with a big beige head. Great we getting more Kernel over here now ❤️ dark roasted malty, ashy charred roast, notes of cocoa, dark caramel, coffee, dusting of lightly singed brown sugar, very nice hoppy undertones coming through, dry dark roasted lingering finish. Gorgeous. --- Beer merged from original tick of Dry Stout Simcoe Ella on 26 Mar 2025 at 12:15 - Score: 8. Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours deep brown with a frothy, khaki head. Outrageously good aroma, big coffee, dark malts. Light sweet flavour with notes of scorched malts, ash, black coffee, earth, old tires. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation toon. Bitter finish, more ashy roast, coffee, baking cocoa. Excellent.
