Historical Beer - Steinbier ✅ Wasn’t expecting a sweet beer, not far off from an adjunct lager but with more body. Thanks Reuben B.

Hazy amber. Aroma is caramel chestnut some dusty hop. Taste is harsh sour malt with light sweet caramel. Not so balanced. Meh.

Bottle courtesy of Ratebeer München Dave, cheers mate, had this at home Thursday 28th October 2021 listening to Huw Stephens standing in for Steve Lamaqs Evening Session on 6 Music, cooking Pilzpfanne mit Pancetta und Petersilie. Pours amber with a hazy murkiness and a little light sediment. A little caramel, chewy with a light tang. Nothing complicated, it's pleasant though.

Bottle from a Travemünde Getränkemarkt. Hazy reddish-brown color, moderate head. Nutty, malty nose. Nice hints of caramel and malt on the tongue, lightly hopped I suppose to accentuate the stone-heated caramel-like character. Decent complexity and pretty full mouthfeel with some remaining sugars. Tasty traditional beer.
