Can from lowcostbeer.com, consumed 1 day before BBE. Murky orange-brown with small off white top. Sweet, orange zest, resinous pine, caramel malts and light dank herbs on the nose. Bittersweet zesty, piney and quite mineral noted, warming and a bit toasty in the finish. Medium+ bodied, zingy carbonation. Lacks a but of finesse but its nice.

Mørk gylden. Nesten klar. Lavt skum som blir film. Litt lacing. Tydelig aroma av tropisk frukt. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken tørket aaprikos. Tørr - lett alkoholisk - avslutning.

Can at home in Hackney - sourced from HOTM. Pours clear, rich orange-copper with a foamy, mostly white head. Medium sweet with with rich bready mats, lightly toasted, loads of resinous pine, nips of caramel, ripening oranges, subtle grassy bitterness. Full bodied, oily and lightly chewy, with fine to average carbonation. Mild warmth to finish, ample resinous pine, toasted malts. Delicious old-school sauce.

30th August 2022 Can. A hazy deep amber beer with a good bubbly cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Smooth malts, a decent creamy sweetness, caramel of course but not as much as I thought there would be given the colour, a little toffee as well. Smooth piney hops. Some marmalade and ripe orange but a good dose of brighter citrus here as well. A little hop spice on the semi dry finish. As the beer warms up, a touch of candy fruits. Tidy. I thought this was going to be another fucking tedious West Coaster, and whilst this shares some of the characteristics of that dull substyle, it has a brightness and drinkability that avoids the pitfalls. It also eschews the pith and peel aspects. In fact it just feels like an old school dipa. Pre cloudy yeasts and pre a lot of the latest hops and pre spectrum, Cryo, T90 or whatever the feck the latest fad is. Yep old school then and a decent throwback.

Can from Great Grog. Clear deep golden body with a thick off-white head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of golden syrup and boiled sweets. Flavour of orange rind and pine. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Tangy and syrupy. It’s easy to drink for the ABV but less complex than I’d hoped it would be.
