Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with beige head. Aroma of smoke, vanilla, dark chocolate Tastes slightly sweet with balancing bitterness. Medium to full bodied.

Bottle sample at Pyynikin tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Black, tan head. Roast, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, sweet, light bitterish hint, medium-bodied. Great aroma, good flavor.

(bottle, 33cl) Dark brown coloured hue with a short and brown foamy layer. Roasty malty, slightly ashy and sweaty aroma with traces of chocolate and only shades of vanilla. Moderately sweet and mildly roast-bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a soft carbonation. Roast-malty base with notes of milk chocolate, lactose and cautious hints of vanilla; sweet, mildly roasty bitter and slightly sticky finish. 24.VI.17

Bottle:Almost black, small tanned foamy layer; moderate sweet-bitter nose of roasted malt, cacao and vanilla, a slight fruity acidity included; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied but not really smooth; lingering sweet-bitter finish of roasted malt and cacao, bitter hops in the aftertaste. Not bad, just a bit on the sweet side...

330 ml bottle, as Pyynikin Papan Vanilla Stout, at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.8%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Aroma of wood, sourish coffee and roast malts. Not even a hint of vanilla. Dry flavour, notes of coffee and roast malts, only a hint of chocolate and vanilla.

Fra flaske på Mi2 Cardinal, des-16: brunsvart med flott beige skum som varer. Aroma av kaffe, grønne epler og (sur) gjær. Bruser litt for mye til at jeg får ordentlig tak i smaken, men jeg kjenner røstet malt, kaffe, mørk sjokolade, vanilje.
