Darkon wird nach traditioneller Schwarzbierherstellung ausschließlich mit dunklen Malzen gebraut. Dabei wird ein Teil des Malzes im Trommelröstverfahren hergestellt. Dadurch entstehen milde kräutrige und röstige Noten, die von einer langanhaltenden Bittere begleitet und mit Aromen von Schokolade, dunkler Gerste und Honig abgerundet werden.

18-03-20 // 330ml bottle from Stumpf. Mahagony black. Brownishbeige head. Roast malt nose with light coffee. Dry roasted malts. Smooth fullbodied carbonation. Light dark roasty to tar. Nice.

Tap. Dark brown color. Aroma of dark malt. Dark malt, offer, caramel, coffee sourness in finish.

On tap at Braufactum, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma reveals notes of whiskey, toasted caramel, and a hint of tart red fruits. Flavour is a similarly strange melange of whiskey, caramel, and tart red fruits. Very odd for a schwarzbier. Not convincing.

Bottle picked up from Edeka, Freising, Steine Park and consumed at home Attenkirchen Tuesday 19th November 2019, listening to Steve Lamaqs Evening Session on 6Music. Pours very dark brown with a beige head. Light chocolate and a little coffee on the nose and in the mouth, smooth and very agreeable.

From the bottle. Dark brown with a creamy head. Aroma of toffee. Taste is sweet with just a touch of metallic bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Drinkable and quite decent but a bit underwhelming.

Aroma hvetemalt, banan, krydder. Utseende brun med beige skum. Smak hvetemalt, banan, krydder, karamell. Fyldig og god balanse.
