Can. Golden color. Arma: malty, a little fruit, even slightly spicy hops. Taste: malty, normal lager.

Can (shared by fatphil, thanks!). Pours amber with whiteish head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is sweet, vegetables, caramel, butter. Flavor is watery, sweet, vegetables. Overall: awful.

50cl can. Pours amber with a thin white head. Slightly bready aroma, hops and harshness. Same goes for the flavor. Grainy, straightforward but the harshness is quite bad.

A coppery beer, a head is big and blond. Aroma has maltyness, some grass, not so fresh. Taste has malts, some bread, hint of caramel. Almost medium bodied, smooth and nice to drink. Nothing special here, but easy to enjoy.

Can 0.5l from local market, Riihimäki. BBE 16 04 16. Colour is clear light orange with medium white head. Aromas and flavours:. Grain, some caramel, some sweetness, biscuit and malts. Boring.

Can 500ml (sample from the brewery)
Clear nice deep copper color, steady small white head, some lace. Bready but harsh aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Bready, grassy harsh bitterness, malty, dryish. Quite similar to normal Kekkonen, but the normal version has cleanier mouthfeel.

Smell of grain, starch. Copper colour, high white foamy head. Aroma of starch, straw, cardboard. Finish is papery. I suppose some faint of hop is to be noted. Medium bitter. Flat carbon, slightly oily texture. It’s unbelievable how a decent brewery like Saimaa wants to churn out this kind of stuff. Moreover, Kekkonen deserves a better beer than a boring ’meh’ lager.

Canned (from K Citymarket Kivihaka, Vaasa). Deep golden colour with a mediumsized slightly off-white fluffy head. Aroma is floral, grainy, mildly herbal and rubbery. Flavour is rubbery, some mild herbal and grainy notes as well as some slight biscuity notes. Very old hop taste to it.
