Our first black IPA, we have been meaning to make one since 2018 and finally got around to it. A good level of bitterness leads to notes of citrus and white wine grapes ending with with a rewarding smooth roasted flavour.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Almost clear deep amber beer, small and short lived bubbly pale tan head. Light palate, mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, typical cda mild dark chocolate and mild dark malt cream. Very light soft pine. A pleasant marmalade and singed orange vibe. Light finish. Tidy cda.

Can at home in the garden, 31st July 24. Pours a lovely black beer, large head. Aroma is roasted malts, cocoa, dark chocolate and pine. Taste is roasted malts, cocoa, bitter, citrus and pine, it’s a real good BIPA, with loads of flavour for the low ABV

Taste comprises roasted pine, pine, dried red berries, charr, ashen nip, cocoa dusting. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close spiked with earthy hop bitterness and a light bitter edge. Tidy CDA for just 4.3%.

Keg @ Brecon Tap after a ride up Brecon Gap. Pours dark, hazed, good pale tan collar. Roasty nose. Flavour profile delivers a solid roasty espresso alongside a deep dark malt base, some dried dark fruit hints, distant Nelson Sauvin notes coming into view. Interesting BIPA, nicely done.
