Its OK but it really is not the best dry stout I've ever had, its def not in the upper quartile even. I'm not rating to style just contextualizing where I think this sits. Pours dark enough, dark brown, with a surprisingly brown head, not the tan and creamy one you might expect (given that isn't a nitro pour or anything, actually I prefer it that way). Nose is interesting, hints at cocoa, a teeny bit of coffee, maybe caramel. Light hints at black malt, but very mild. Notes are roast and not much else. Hint of acrid bitterness at the finish but again just a hint. If I say bitter chocolate I'm over-reaching for things to say about a beer that isn't that complex. Very dry that's for sure. Cans from Pats Liquor Oviedo near UCF.

Clear, bright, dark a,ber brown colour with a medium tall brown head; faint aroma of plum compote, roast, watery palate as common in this style; dry flavor with a long, medium bitter finish. Better than most of the style.

Pour is a used motor oil black with a large tan head that goes away to nothing quickly. Aroma is an intense charred malt. Almost espresso coffee. Flavor is a little less the the aroma let on. A nice char is left on the tongue but this ends up being a bit thin. The look and aroma are worth it alone for this beer. Found in a bargain bin for $2 a can.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to nonic glass.
Appearance: black in the color with a one finger eggshell white foamy to semi-bubbly head that dissolved at a decent pace to leave some light lace
Aroma: coffee roastiness, earthy hints, cocoa powder, sweet grains
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a nice roasty to sweet quality; finishes dry, roasty and earthy
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; light smoothness but extremely dry along the tongue all the way through
Overall: an extremely dry stout. Good for what it is but I drank a lot of water after this beer.

16 oz. can from Total Wine. Pours a pitch black color with a dark tan head and decent retention. Zero lacing. Very dark roasted aroma. Very dark roasted flavor too, with some faint coffee and molasses notes in the dry finish. Medium light weak body. Light carbonation. Light bitterness. Good, not great.

Draught @ The Hoptimist, Manhattan (Jan 2024). Inky black with a small frothy tan head that flops fast, dark chocolate aroma, high carbonation, medium bitter dark chocolate-mocha taste, thin body, long finish. A smooth Irish stout.
