200ml, tap, last one during a long drinking afternoon with Skinnyviking at Mikkeller & Friends. Tan-coloured, bubbly ring to the edge of the glass. Jet black body. Malty sweet nose offset by leafy hops. Dark fruity taste character, roasted malts added by a punch of citrus shells. Lasting bittersweet tail. Well-made stout, not too sweet (Copenhagen, 22.05.2013).

33 cl bottle @ lusikka, BBE 08.01.2018
Aroma is rather nice with lots of fruity hops, some gooseberry bush and hints of nettles. Also some roasted notes and hints of ash behind the hop wall. Flavour is rather hoppy with fruity notes, pineapples, gooseberry bush and some roasted notes. Sweet stout? A black IPA this is.

330ml bottle from Bierkompass

BBE 08/01/18 - Pours pitch black with a brown head. Massive amount of hops in the aroma, notes of roasted malts, citrus, grainy notes and hints of licorice. Taste is hoppy, roasty and sweetish with notes of milky chocolate. Finish is hoppy, fruity, lactic and roasty with notes of sweet chocolate. Quite hoppy stout, almost feels like an Black IPA.

On tap at Mikkeller & Friends, pours black with a small tan / brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, milky notes, and some slightly burnt malt. Flavour of milky chocolate, dry roasted malt, mocha, and wood. Very complex and full-bodied, with a dry, milky and roasted malt. Excellent stuff.

330 ml bottle, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 7% Pitch black colour, large brown head. Roasty aroma, notes of coffee, woodwork, dark chocolate and liquorice Smooth flavour, with a nice but moderate sweetness from the lactose. Moderate roasty notes of mild coffee and chocolate, a hint of liquorice in the background. Decent (American?) hops in the finish. Hoppy and woody notes in the aftertaste A pleasant beer to drink.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque black with a creamy and lacing brownish head. Odd, sweet roasty nose - the lactose I suppose. Medium body, sweet roast, a little licorice. Soft mouthfeel. Heavy roasty finish. 240413
