Delightfully dry to medium-dry, it strikes a perfect balance between acidity and tannins, dryness and sweetness, and between ciders old and new.

The unique assemblage balances all four styles of cider apple: bitter, bitter-sweet, sweet, and sharp, in varieties such as Marie Ménard, Kermerrien and Judor. They come from traditional apple orchards near the river Rance in northern Brittany’s Côtes-d’Armor; this is a cider true to its roots, and ours.

Slow fermented for medium strength, it has a lovely harmony of earthy aromas and vibrant tastes. Enjoy this zingy unwinder just as it is or discover its food-friendly nature with lightly spicy food.

500ml bottle from Morrisons Inverurie. It pours clear rich golden with a bubbly white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, crunchy apple, appletiser, perfumed, touch of grape and hubba bubba bubblegum. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, sweet, juicy, crunchy apple, sugary, appletiser vibes, apple tango, light dusting of brown sugar, apple pie and a touch of woody tannin with a bitter - sweet finish. Average body and prickly carbonation. Perhaps a touch sweeter than I was hoping for. Not bad.

330mL bottle at Garage Beer Co, pours a clear bright golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out sweet apple juice, some champagne-like effervescence, and crisp apple skins. Flavour has that odd characteristic of being simultaneously sweet and dry — there's sweet apple juice, dry champagne yeast, and light funk. A little too sweet to stand out as a top Spanish sidra, but it's well-made and has nice complexity. Solid.

Stubby bottle from TreeRock. Lo-ball @home. Clear, dark amber color; lingering froth. Soft dessert & aromatic apples, minerally, fresh juice. Smells maybe backsweetened. Taste is old, sweated out bittersweet apples, soap, mild funk, leather, wax. Odd mushroom, sulphites & earthy apple aftertaste combo. Definitely semi-sweet. Frothy, good carbonation, sizzling, sticky fructose, moderate acidity, mellow tartness, whatever abv. Okay.
