Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 22/09/24. Black with a khaki head that thins to a swirl. Nose is cacao nibs, dark malts, dried fruits, tobacco, charr. Taste comprises chocolate, walnut whip, dark malts, charr, spice, dried fruit rinds, light peppery tones. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough impy if a little stuck at the top end of 3rd gear.

Near opaque dark brown beer, a few tan bubbles. Light palate for the style, mildly dry, good fine minerally crispness. The dark malts bring some crisp and slightly bitterish dark chocolate. A little dark malt cream compensates, but not much. White pepper spice and cinnamon dominates the back end. Light crisp finish. Has a definite style this one, it isn't a style that really resonated with me but I do appreciate a counterpoint to the absolute pastry onslaught that is 2024 craft brewing. Peppery linger.

Bottle. Color: Almost black, thin brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, coffee, spicy notes. Taste: Roasted malt earthy, coffee notes, spicy hints, hints of anisr. Less spicy / herbal and peppery than expected, based on the description of the ingredients. Spices used subtle, fortunately. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Over moderate to medium sweet, moderate to over moderate bitterness. Well done again, Menno!
