Sweet flavour, notes of marsala, oak, dark dried fruits, honey and brown sugar. Moderate hops in the finish.

Bottle. A more or less black beer, with a small beige head. The aroma is quite vinous, with dark dried fruit, some roasted malts and coffee, dark chocolate and red wine. Oak and spiced hints. It's full-bodied and warming, sweet, with a dry and bitter touch, some tannins kicking in too. Roasted malts, bread, dried fruit, dark chocolate, tannins, oak, raisin, and some notes of caramel in the flavor. Lasting finish. Nice indeed, can't really say I notice the Marsala in this one, even though I have a glass of Marsala on the side. 241019

(Draught at Craft & Draft, Amsterdam, 19 July 2024) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with oak wood, dried fruit, red wine, caramel, dark honey and hints of vinegar. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, oak wood, red wine, raisins, prunes, dried fruit, honey, a mild winey vinegar acidity and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Full body, quite sweet. Rich, tasty and vinous, with a mild tartness. Great beer!

Bottle @ home. Almost black body under a big, stable, dense beige head. Strong aroma of dark, mild roasted malt, dry fruit, vinous alcohol and some oak. Taste is sweet, dark malt, dry fruit, brown sugar, oak, vinous alcohol and a touch of acidity that manage to balance some of the sweetness. Full bodied with long lasting aftertaste. Strong, sweet, bold but balanced and really delicious.

Draught @ Patrick's Pours dark reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, dried fruits, oak, vinous, brown sugar and a hint of maple syrup. Taste is heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, dried fruity, caramel, roasted malt and oak finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft

Solid evening sipper this one. Evil darkness on the edge of town and a vicious beige cloud. Fine intensity in the aroma. Decent sweetness and a fine mellow carbonation level. Dark malt, dried fruit, chocolate and oak in the flavor. [Bottle from Vinmonopolet at Amfi Borg in Sarpsborg, Norway]

Solid for the style, not world class, but pretty good. Boozy and on the medium body side. Craft draft ams

Delt med EgilB i skyggen på Lillehøgda. Ultramørkebrun/svart. Høyt farget, luftig skum som daler passe fort - og blir helt borte. Aroma av fatlagring. Lett bourbonpreg. Smaken tørket frukt. Mest rosin. Tørr avslutning. Velkomponert dessertøl på den søte siden.
