We got back from Quarry Farm with a trailer load of cider apples. We wanted to add a dose to several other batches to give them a tannin boost. First we had to make space in the tanks and all that juice went into one mongrel batch. This is the result, many orchards contributed apples to this one, it has a little bit of everything and lots going on.
Now matured into a most accessible drink, in the eastern counties or new world style. Big crisp fruitiness is sweetened for a pleasing mouth feel that's dangerously easy to swallow, given its strength. Ugly Dog is an affectionate hound of dubious origins.
