Draft. Pours dark as dark can be. Almost too much fruit- figs? raisins? who knows. Very rich, fruity and alcoholy.

5th Feb 2016: De Bierboom, Brugge. 4th International Beer Swap. Shared 0.75 litre cork and caged bottle. Think sweet prunes and dates soaked in alcohol, then leave the concoction to ferment and age a while. Not too sure I actually liked the taste but I did find it interesting and I am glad to have tried another American Quad.

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle corked and capped. Clear dark brown with small light brown head. Aroma is dark candy sugar, medium body, medium carbonation, and small bubble lacing. Taste is sweet dark candy sugar and some dark fruit. Serve with some cheese and very good for an American quad.

750 ml bottle purchased @ the brew pub on my visit awhile back. Color is a deep brown with ruby highlights, not much penetration of light. Fizzy head that lingered until the end. Aroma is sugar with prune juice.

Flavor is cloying sweet. Caramelized sugar, Molasses, candy syrup, sugar dipped raisins and maybe a hint of yeast underneath all this sugar. Texture is sticky and syrupy medium body, leaning on the thin side. On the positive side no alcohol from time it mellowed in the cellar. Overall I like Sly Fox, so this is not a reflection on their brewery but this brew will not stand up to any other in the style. Way to sweet.
