Bottle, free rating at Frankfurt airport lounge
Compared to the normal Hefeweizen, the alcohol-free has a darker, golden color, and it’s only hazy; creamy head. The aroma has a profile of cereals and bread, revealing its true nature. The body is light, it has a light flavor of bread and cookies, and low to mild bitterness.
A pleasant choice in the NA domain.

Bottle @ Mega Bavarian Beer Tasting in Schlitz. Hazy golden appearance with an off white head. Great head retention. Old grainy, extract, bready, somewhat yeasty flavor. Dull bready, shitty wheat flavor.

50cl bottle. Hazy golden colour with a medium frothy, creamy and nice lacing white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet and banana hints. Flavour is malty, wheaty and with a final mild watery. Carbonation is medium. Body is light.

Of course, not comparable to the real wheat beers (including alcohol) but in the non-alcoholic genre this tops my list.

23/01 0.5 l bottle somewhere from Graz. It poured hazy brownish body with medium sized head. Crappy cabbage and ugly cornflakes aroma. Metallic cornflakes flavor, really unpleasant, some chalk reveals wheat malt. As it wasn’t enough, it needed to be fuller in body because of all that wheat, resulting in long unpleasant metallic plus stinky socks finish. Maybe even I got the bad bottle but wouldn’t like to try again anyhow! Could be worse, I guess.

Bottled 500ml. -Hazy yellow/orange coloured, medium sized white head, sweet nose. The taste is very nice for n/a beer; light wheaty, caramel and rice crips. Even not so watery as I’ve expected. Pleasant n/a surprise.

0.5l bottle brought from Germany by and shared with ogivlado (thanks!) Poured a nice warm full yellow murky body with a medium sized thick chalky white head that went away slowly. The nose is strange, a bit sweet, with notes of rice crackers and chalk. The taste ends up being better than expected and the mouthfeel remarkably pleasant. Caramel, chalky sweet rice crackers, maybe some cloves too. There is a light sour note to liven up everything. Actually quite drinkable and if forced to drink n/a beer (even if I can’t imagine such a situation), this would be one of my 2-3 top choices!

(bottle) Cloudy, orange to golden colour with a big and steady foamy white head. Sweet and musty-yeasty malty aroma with a light wheat-character, accompanied by cloves and mildly fruity notes. Sweet flavour, slim bodied but with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Slightly wheaty malty taste with veggie notes as cooked carrots; slim and moderately sweet and mildly acidic finish. 10.VI.10

50cl Bottle from Aktiv Markt, Trier. Light hazy light amber colour, dense and fluffy white head, looks good. Aroma of sweet malts, dough, some wheat, yeast. Flavour is sweet, dough, cookies, light wheat, some yeast, short watery bitterness in the finish. Body is thin, mouthfeel is watery. Still quite full of flavour and not at all that bad imo, keeping in mind that this is a NA beer.
