Chocolate doesn't really make it through. Also it's dry as heck. It's mostly berries with tiny hints of chocolate on the nose and upfront.

Power tasting at Phill's, corked bottle
Deep burgundy colour, unclear. Weird aroma, there's berries, jam, rubber. Sticky sweet; huge berry flavour, but blackberries and raspberries lend vegetable bitterness sometimes, and tannins; the cocoa is very light, but it takes the tannins in the wrong direction; vanilla; this would be a good fruit wine in Europe, any mead flavour is now undetectable.

375mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a tiny head. Nose is loaded with pithy raspberries, pith blueberries, and a touch of cocoa. Flavour reveals a wonderul mix of pithy berries, especially blueberries and blackberry, followed by dark cocoa powder, subdued honey, and a little alcohol. Really nice fruitiness and just enough cocoa to add to the mix. Lovely stuff.
Dark purple pour. Berry nose. Sweet berry with chocolate flavor. Palate chocolate with hint of tart cherry

375 ml bottle, batch 3, bottle 209 of 1650. Dark ruby body, without head. Beautiful aroma of smooth red and dark berries, honey, nuts, cocoa. Tastes quite similar, while less sweet, with a slightly harsh dryness. Medium, oily mouthfeel, without carbonation. Finishes sweet, warm, a bit astringent, with lots of berries, cocoa, dark honey. Tasty. The nose is amazing, with rich, jammy berries. Taste is a bit too harsh for me, probably because of the dry cocoa, which becones smoother in the finish though. Not as great as the regular Marion, but another lovely one. Score: 9 / 4 / 7 / 4 / 16

0,375l bottle at home shared by Saeglopur, big thanks. Batch #3. Bottle No 209. dark brown color. no head. smells of berry notes, honey, spices, peppery notes. nice smell. full body, no carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of berry notes, honey, earthy, spices, light blueberries, bit citric, bit boozy. finishes dry and lightly bitter with notes of berries, honey and earthy notes. not a big mead fan, this is nice, surprisingly dry for a mead. nice one overall
