Bottle at home. One year old. Pours a slightly hazy mahogany and a beige head. Aroma of oak, dried fruit, balsamico, rowanberries, earth and forest floor. A both sweet and acidic flavour of bread, red berries, dried fruit and oak. Has a silky mouth feel, medium to full body, and a light bitterness. A nice mix of sweet and sour flavours that is reminiscent of an oud bruin.

Bottle, 375cl. Almost clear in the glass, amber colored, with a small, light beige head. Fruity, funky aroma with leather, barnyard, wood, lemon and a vinous touch. It’s full-bodied, tart and pleasantly carbonated, Sort of metallic in the flavor, especially towards the finish, with fruityness, lemon and funk. Lasting funky, acidic finish with some vinegar hints and a touch of tannine rich red wine. Quite nice, but I think it’s lacking on complexity, but it’s a fine beer indeed. 170311

Bottle at level 42 Xmas share, thanks to Matteo. It pours clear reddish brown with a thick beige head. The aroma is funky, tart fruit, musty, grape skin, jammy berry, sour candy, brown bread and vinous character. The taste is crisp, tart, tangy red berry, sour, creamy lactic vibe, grape skin, gooseberry, some decent acidity, juicy action, wood and some vanilla. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Rather nice. Juicy, tangy and sour.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Matteo. Pours clear orange with asking, creamy topping. Tangy citric notes in the nose, dried wood chips, orange peel. Light sweet flavour with strong woody and earthy notes, aged citrus peel, musty hay. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with more citric notes, moderate acidity, lemon, booze. Novelty stuff. A little bit harsh.
