This Imperial Stout really honours finnish rye, that really adds a lot of complexity to this beer. Generous hopping furthermore boosts the flavor of this beer.

(Keg at SOPP Helsinki 2016) The beer black. Its head non-existent. Aroma had burnt malts, ash and liquorice. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, burnt and bitter. A too unbalanced brew. And the booze pushed through towards the end.

Bottled@Little Pub, Vaasa. Black colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is ryebread, some liquorice, mild sugar and alcohol. Flavour is rye, alcohol, some sweet malts. Kind of Malax limpa over the whole thing. Yet very drinkable and tasty.

Tap at TCBW2016. Opaque black color, small beige head. Strong licorice in the nose. Medium-bodied to full-bodied. Rye, licorice, toasted malts, some alcohol kick in the finish. Interesting and one of the better Mallaskoski beers.
