Deep amber brown colour, small frothy beige head, dissipates quickly, light lacing. Aroma sweet malts, caramel, brown sugar, light liquorice. Flavour medium to light heavy sweet and slightly bitter, roasted malts. Malty sweetbitter aftertaste, coffee grounds, spicy notes; medium body, watery to oily texture, average carbonation, nothing special but all in all okay.

Bottled@AIH66 Beer Session (from Saveur Biere). Very deep copper colour with a mediumsized beige head. Aroma is sweet malts, mild wood and some slight not-too-sweet ripe fruitiness. Flavour is rubbery, some ripe fruits and mild strange woodenish dry notes. Watery palate.

Tap (at scott’s, Luxembourg). Pours dark brown. Aroma is sweet, fruits, spices, map. Flavor is sweet and sour, spices, malt. Carbonation is high. Finish has some dry bitterness. Overall: ok, maybe bit off, but i like the sourness. --- Beer merged from original tick of Diekirch Christmas on 05 Jul 2018 at 16:42. Original review text: backlog

Thanks to Erzengel for that one! Bottle looks simple but okay. Beer in the glass zippy, dark brown. Nice head. Starts mild, malty, mild notes of raisins. Light metallically. Finish a bit boring malty. Still okay.

Luxembourg Christmas beer (lager that is, not ale) with a moussy, creamy, light beige, relatively thick but unstable head and dark ruby red colour, clear. Aroma of caramel, pine needles, cookies, liquorice, coffee grounds, sweet tobacco, dates, popcorn. Taste begins neutral only to become light sweetish, caramelly malty, straightforward, finishing lightly hopped, a bit smoky, toasted bitterness, bland and dry. Very boring in comparison with Belgian Christmas beers but then, it is ’only’ a lager.

The beer starts malty, slightly sweet. The mainpart is malty, slightly bitter and a bit sticky. The aftertaste is medium to long, malty, a bit sticky and slightly bitter.
Nice, but nothing special! --> 10/11/9/9
