Brewed with our friends at BritHop Brewing Co, Girl From Mars is a session NEIPA, new 2023 version dry hopped with Harlequin. Inspired by Ash's 90's classic 'Girl from Mars', this collaboration was created through the love of progressive British hops & the ultra modern styles they can be applied to (& great tunes!).

Can at home, thanks to a Sharon pick up from Tossco, 21/12/23. Lightly hazed yellow golden with a decent lasting white head. Nose is orange zest, melon, papaya, grass, nectarine, airy malts. Taste comprises orange zest, light mango kiss, faint hop spice, pine nip, citric pith, grass. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with light juicy come grassy hop bitterness. Decent enough sessioner.

Can at home picked up from Tesco. A light hazed bright yellow straw coloured pour with a lasting rocky white head. Aroma is soft delicate wheat, bready grains, delicate green berries, lychee, english floral hedgerow hops, green opal fruits. Flavour is composed of grainy bready malts, flaked wheat, distinctive floral hop notes, delicate, grape, green opal fruits, leafy finish, light chaml. Palate is super crisp, fizzy carbonation, drying finish. Nice. quite unique hop.

Can. Hazy gold beer, big pale cream colour head. Airy palate, semi dry, good fine minerally light carbonation. Fluffy malts, a light dry thin creamy sweetness. Harlequin presents here without discernable skunk. Light pine. Modest if bright citrus, a little floral citrus. Whisper of hop spice. It's all a little generic here, can't really get any sense of what Harlequin is all about. Could pass for Cascade here. A tidy beer but I would have liked a bit more presentation of this exciting new UK hop.

Can from Tesco with the dreadfully named brithop with an Oasis style logo. Nose is very soapy, vanilla, floral. Taste is similar, soapy, floral, coconut, vanilla, light lime in a short thing finish. Very little going on and really surprising to see such a bland beer from Buxton. A hopeless Ash song released when I was 15 ;p

440ml can, Chez Sophie. Hazed golden appearance, good white head. Nicely sweet exotic fruit, a touch sugary, smooth medium body. Decent overall. One of my favourite Ash songs too, released when I was 15!

Murky soupy gold with a matching swirly sticky white foam. Chalky mineral and on the turn lemon. Bit of gooseberry and stone fruit. Taste is pleasantly bitter with just some light oaty sweetness. Dry-ish and refreshing. Moderate bitterness to finish. It’s better than it looks.
