bottle at le cheval blanc.
Dark brown pour, thin beige head.
Aroma of dark fruity malts, and some light citrus. Quite complex. The oak comes through in droves once it warms. It actually kinda takes away from the light citrus. Nice beer, but might be a little complex for its own good, and the oak really takes from some of the subtle nuances.

On tap. Pours a hazy mahogany color with light head. Aromas of dried fruit, floral Belgian yeast and toasted malts. Flavors of Christmas cake spice, candied fruit, kinda tart stoned fruit skins and toasted malts. Along the lines of a really nice Belgian Xmas beer.

16 ounce can. Must have buried this in my beer locker and never got around to drinking this over the holidays. Barely translucent dark brown color. Small creamy beige head. Tart, yeasty malt aroma hints at dried fruit and wet funk. Tangy dark malt flavors. Notes of black currants, figs, caramel, oak, plums and wine vinegar. Mildly tart, but very drinkable.

Bottle at home. Labeled vintage 2014 reserve series. Has a clear deep mahogany colour with a light beige head. Aroma of oak, vinegar, heather, horse, rye bread, black currants and gooseberries. Hint of cinnamon. Flavour of balsamico vinegar, oak, black currants, dates and heather. Hint of spices. Has a slick and a little soft mouthfeel, medium to full body and a light bitterness. Incredibly balanced and has a nice sweet and sour flavour.
