[5/13/17] Draught at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017. Red session. Hazy amber-brown. Caramel, fruitiness, spiciness, funk, sour-sweetish, medium-bodied.

Deep brick red with a tall head. Tart fruity notes, cherry, light spice, sweet balsamic vinegar, molasses. Medium bodied. Finish is long on the fruit and sour, too. Quite an enjoyable winter sipper.

Bottle shared from Logan. 2011 vintage. Lively gusher. Pours cloudy, dark brown, with a giant, foamy, tan head. The aroma is toasted oak, balsamic vinegar, old leather, cloves, and molasses. Sweet and acerbic, with a mild tartness. Medium to heavy body, silky, a little thin, with lively carbonation. I’m not sure if this was supposed to be a sour, but it totally works as one. Lively, smooth, and complex.

Vintage 2014. Matt nøttebrun med høyt beige skum. Lukter surt, men føles rund. Mørke frukter, trevirke, vanilje og svisker. Fyldig. Sur smak, sure røde bær, lett sødme, vanilje, svisker, trevirke. Middels lang. (Schouskjelleren ølfestival 2016)

Ölföreningen 2015. Flaska, batch 897, 2011 vintage. Smak och doft av röda vinbär, malt, trä, körsbär, plommon, jordgubbar med toner av apelsinskal, metall, russin, viss fatkaraktär. Fruktig, stor kropp och sötma, mycket syrlig.

750 mL bottle poured at a tasting. Reddish brown color pour with an active fizz head. Dark fruit aroma, with oak and soft malt. Earthy I suppose. Flavor is juicy up front. Soft spice, oak, mixed berry and black cherry flavors that linger. Very nice beer. Enjoyed this.

Riktigt gott.

Backlog. Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 20.05.13. Clear brown. A little lambic/brett in aroma. Taste is at first sour, but then more malt develops. Short aftertaste. Dry. Decent drinkability.
