A classic example of a beer mild in hops but not in flavour. Sweetness balanced by bitter chocolate malt to produce a rare but much sought after traditional mild.

Note: Has been brewed at various strengths between 3.6% and 4.7%

Pours hazy dirty brown, topped with medium small beige head that is pretty lasting. Medium malty nose, some pleasant biscuity notes and chocolate, perhaps a hint of roastiness in the end. Mild sweetness, very mild, a hint of roastiness and milder bitterness. Very light body. Nicely drinkable.

Draft at the Jerusalem Tavern in Clerkenwell. A true English mild that ticked all of the boxes. A rather turgid look in the glass, but plenty of sweet malts and a low abv made this very, very drinkable.

Bottle from Waitrose. A decent mild, a comforting pint of mild. Malty and not too heavy or light.
