Bottle. Thx Tony. Some tan bubbles form on top of a next to black body. Licorice, molasses, coffee, malt candy and some roasted malts in the aroma. Slighlty warming on the palate, full-bodied and soft, with flavors of licorice, coffee and molasses, as well as beef stock and roasted malts. Lots of licorice towards the lasting finish. A complex and wonderful stout I’d really like to have again. 120608

275 ml bottle, 2005 vintage. Dark brown, almost black body with a small and fast disappearing tan head. Aroma of light roasted malt, liquorices, dry fruit, soya, molasses and warming alcohol. Flavor is sticky sweet malt, some burnt malt, liquorices, broth, warming alcohol and bitterness. Full body and long, sweet aftertaste. Impressive beer, still a bit to sweet for top score.

Black with a lasting light brown head. One of those wonderful rich aromas with port and dried fruits especially dates. Bitter with some woody, oak-y acid, somewhat burned. Awesome beer.

(Bottle 27,5 cl) Completely opaque, black beer with a small, brownish head. Vinous, port-like nose. Very full and rich body with plenty of malt. Accents of burned malt with a coffeeish touch and some fruity notes (not quite what you’d expect in a stout). And the burned malts don’t leave the usual, ashy bitterness which is a positive thing in my book. 260106

A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, and straw, as well as light notes of licorice and coffee. The flavor is sweet very roasted and with a strong note of coffee, giving it a adicid coffee end combined with the bitterness of dark chocolate.

Black color, thin brown head. Aroma of malt, bread, caramel, cardboard, light raisins and tar, very light phenol. Thick mouthfeel, malty, sweet, with caramel, liquorice, roasted malt, and balancing strong bitterness (very long final). Everything is perfectly mixed together.
A wonderful brew!
