On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Cloudy orange to brown colour, large off-white head. Strong aroma of fruity and piney American (and/or possibly Aussie/NZ?) hops. Distinctly hoppy flavour throughout, fruity first, piney and resinous in the middle, very bitter and sharp finish and aftertaste, nearly chinine-like. The malty base is not too sweet. Calls for the "bitter beer face", this one.

On tap at the brewpub. It’s a hazy dark orange to golden beer with a dense, creamy finger-thick off-white head that lasts. Curtains too. The aroma has a butterscotch-like touch, with pine cones, citrus peel and a malty touch. It’s rather bitter on the palate, slightly sweet, and with a pleasant carbonation level. Pine cones and a good dash of citrus peel too. Lasting finish with the bitterness dominating. Except for the butterscotch, it’s a really fine beer. As it is now, it’s still nice, but nothing more. 130906

On tap at the brewpub. Unclear orange body with a nice, lasting white head. Aroma is citric fruity with a hint of caramel malt. Flavor is sweet, medium malty with citric fruit and moderate bitterness. Medium pluss body and moderate in aftertaste. Definitive drinkable beer to go with the burger, but a bit one dimensional in my opinion. I know CB can make better IPA’s and when the pale ale gives the impression of being bitterer than the IPA I’m not too impressed with this one.
