The malt of this characteristic, golden blonde triple comes from the French region of Beauce-Gatinais. Together with the added German Munich malt both provide a full-bodied finish. A selection of 4 fine hop varieties from Germany, the Czech Republic, Great Britain and Belgium ensures a subtly balanced nose. The careful re-fermentation in the bottle ensures a firm, creamy head.

Bottle from Beerwulf. Aroma is spicy yeast, bready pale malt, hint of fruits with citrus, soft herbal notes, picking up a little herbal hop. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. Nice Tripel with a surprising hoppy highlight.

Bottle from the Carrefour in Oostende. Pleasant grassy malt, lots of yeast esters here with peach, a little citrus, a little pepper, but a fairly firm underlying and lingering bitterness that throws off the balance.

My order with belgiuminabox was supposed to have been for Keyte's quad, I got the tripel instead. Or strong pale Belgian ale as determined by RateBeer. Oh well, given lemons so turn it into lemonade. I do like tripels significantly anyway. I have my Teku glass working for this 33 cl offering. The liquid is an opaque yellow-orange with a top of frothy, nearly pure-white foam. The nose is yellow fruit, yeast and bread. A good drink delivers apricot, nectarine, a yeastiness, slightly sweet, cut hay and grain. It has a full sensation with it, the carbonation contributing to that I assume. Not bad, but certainly a distance from the best tripels I've had. Still stinging from the quad deal in any case.
