330 ml bottle. Pours pitch black, nice tan head, quite high at first but reduces soon into a thin layer. Aroma is a bit lactic, some roast there as well, dark ry bread, crumbs. Good actually. Taste is also full of roast flavours, burnt bread, average body that actually fits quite well with the flavour profile. Aftertaste turns a bit sour but not much and bitter roastiness lingers for longer. Didn’t expect this to be that good but it is actually quite nice. Surprise.

Draught @ the brewpub
Aroma is quite nice with coffee notes, nuts, and some cocoa. Flavour is a bit odd and somewhat syrupy with roasted notes, coffee and dark chocolate. Perhaps a bit harsh and too syrupy but still better than I expected. This gives burps with Koulu house aroma – or then it was the Munk I had before this. Go figure.

Aroma improves as this warms up – but flavour is still same milk chocolate and syrup. Tastes even sweeter now. Perhaps also some ashy tones.

Draught@brewpub 27.5.13 Opaque black color, small brownish head. Medicinal and coffeish aroma. Light bodied. Ashy flavor has coffee and some dark chocolate. Quite watery palate, but flavor is better than aroma is promising.

25cl on tap at the brewpub. Dark mahogany with a minimal beige head. Roasty aroma with licorice, some dark fruits, dark malt and hints of smoke and wood. Medium sweet with mild, but pleasant roasty flavours and a light bitterness. Medium body with a quite lively carbonation. Decent stout! --- Beer merged from original tick of Ronk on 17 Jul 2016 at 13:54 - Score: 6

(Keg at Kochi Ait Trahter, 20130703) The beer poured almost black. Its head was medium sized and light brown. Aroma had burnt malts and liquorice. Palate was quite light bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, liquorice, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. The beer has potential but it too thin.
