BBE 9/2015 - Pours dark reddish brown with a large white head. Aroma of leathery smoke, wheaty banana notes, some yeast and farmyard. Taste is carbonated, wheaty and earthy with some banana, hints of smoke, ash and leather. Finish is heavily carbonated, stuffy and yeasty with some banana and leathery notes. A bit unbalanced and the carbonation is too heavy.

Bottle. Shared by FatPhil, thanks! Pours hazy amber with off-white head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, smoke, wheat, fruits. Flavor is sweet, malt, wheat, smoke. Body is somewhat watery. Overall: ok.

Bottle. An unclear, brownish-orange beer with a dense, off-white to light beige head. The aroma is lightly smoked, with some pale malts and orange zest. It’s a bit sweet on the palate, yet dryish, with some smoke and orange peel in the flavor. Pleasant carbonation, medium body. Some bitterness too, lasting for a good while. Quite uninteresting this one, but it drinks quite easily. 150228

Zu stark karbonisierter Antrunk. Leicht süße Rauchigkeit, milde Herbe. Schnell lässt die Hefigkeit nach, noch wenig würzig, langweilig. 9/9/7/7/6/8

Smell of yeast, also some smoke. Cloudy bronze colour, beige head. Aroma of smoke, yeast, banana, overripe fruit, earth. Sweet with a faint bitterness. heavy carbon, slightly oily texture. Haven’t had many very successful smoked wheats, but this one is decent.

Aroma has funky yeast and sweet smoky tones. Flavour has mild smoky tones, yeast, hints of metal and bready malt. Finishes with toffee. Foamy palate. A bit mild, could be more rich on smoke. Not ”voimakkaan savuinen” in any way.

50cl bottle from Alko. Murky brown color, thick off white head. Surprisingly strong smoky aroma, Bamberg style, but not THAT strong though. Wheat as well, some sweetness. Flavor has sweet banana, some wheat and light smoked ham. Ripe banana in the sweet finish. Way too carbonated, makes it hard to drink.

(Bottle, 0.5 l - 7/9/2015, from Alko, 20150207) The beer poured brown and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had smoke, banana, caramel and malts. Palate was medium bodied with highish carbonation. Flavours were smoke, clove, banana, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was smoky, mildly spicy and bitter. A nice but a little bit too thin-flavoured brew.

Bottled 500ml (Alko)
Dark copper color, small white head. Quite strong Bambergian smoke in the nose, also some caramel-fruity sweetness. Light to medium-bodied. Smokeyness is not as strong in the flavor. Fizzy, odd almost soda pop feeling. Banana fruityness. Short finish. Excessive carbonation ruins this beer.

A medium brown beer with a quite big and blond head. Aroma is good, dry smoke and some tar, wheat and some fruitesters, smoke is dominating. Taste is balanced with hefe and mild smokyness. Smoke, sourness of wheat, some tar liquirice and hint of fruitness. Medium bodied, strong carbonation. The great beer where the smoke and wheat are nicely mixed. The smoke is dominating.
