Bottle. It’s a dark brown beer topped by dense, beige head. Almost clear in the glass. The aroma is quite roasted, with coffee and some dark chocolate, as well as a touch of pine cones and orange peel. It has a nice bitterness, as well as roasted malts and coffee. Cocoa in the back. Pine cones and citrus peel. It’s full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated, quite dry on the palate, even though there’s some residual sweetness. Lasting finish. A fine brew, but I prefer my Black IPA’s less malty. 131123
