2013 bottle. Appearance- pitch black and opaque, half a finger brown clingy head. Aroma- oak, vanilla, whisky, boiled vegetables. Taste- chocolate malt, vanilla sweetness, milk chocolate, dark malt, coffee hints. Sweet finish, fizzy mouthfeel. Ok, not amazing.

Fra flaske (2006-årgangen) på sesongåpning Mi2 cardinal aug-16: brunsvart med eksemplarisk skum som står distansen ut. Vanilje/eik, dessertsjokolade, eksklusiv kaffe og modne bær i skjønn forening. En superlekker porter som bør nytes i små glass, gjerne sammen med gode venner.

330 ml bottle, vintage 2016, at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.5%. Black colour, large tan head. Nice aroma of moderately roasted malts, exotic woodwork, chocolate and vanilla. Smooth flavour, notes of roast malts, mild coffee, chocolate, vanilla and oak. Should not be drunk too cold.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 15.08.16. Ebony. Brown head and lacing. Fine and complex aroma of dark wood, ash, roasted malt and coffee. Similar taste, with medium bitterness. Also some vanilla.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with little off-white head. Aroma of caramel, some oak, some vanilla. Tastes pretty bitter, some sweetness. Surprisingly thin bodied. Somehow unbalanced.

Bottle at Nääs Fabriker. Pitch black, small beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, oak tree, burnt leather, burnt sugar, coffee, ash. Taste is malt, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, slight oak, finishes dry with alcohol notes and firm bitterness. Big body, low carbo.
