Originally brewed by ale breweries to compete with the surging popularity of lager beer, it remains a regional specialty in the Northeast United States. Our version is light-bodied and pale straw color, but uses no corn or rice as many of the original versions did. The result is a supremely malty and refreshing version of a style dear to our hearts

Location: 16 oz can from Sparrow, 2/9/15

Aroma: The nose is pretty standard, with some sweet, cereal, and grainy malts
Appearance: Pours a clear orange-gold color with a small ring of head and light, spotty lace
Flavor: The flavor is all about the same malt bill, grains and cereal, fairly sweet, mild bitterness
Palate: Light bodied, not watery, with a lively carbonation, a clean feel, and a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: You can't help but enjoy this drinkable beer, even if it isn't all that exciting. It works quite well in this style. I'm always happy to have a flavorful, drinkable, low alcohol beer, and this is one. Looking forward to drinking cans of this more often now that is has made its way in Jersey.

Tap at brewery. Pours fine gold with nose of grains and hop. Pretty hoppy for cream ale, light biscuits, grains, and grass. Smooth fresh and very drinkable.
