Bottle from the brewery. Pours dark brn/blk with a creamy tan head. Aroma is that spicy wood thing with dark malt, cinnamon and arguably ginger. Full bodied. Flavor is strongly that spicy wood thing, but ginger and cinnamon are quite present. Not dry, but not sticky. Various weird things substitute for hop bitter. There's a little heat. With time chocolate prows through the stronger flavors. The wood persists and continues to dominate the mix. Almost makes my tongue tickle. Very good and strong flavor.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight cafe a lait head. Aroma is spicy - like the amburana in some Dogfish Head beers. Chocolate too. Bourbon/vanilla too. Full bodied. Flavor is spicy chocolate - not unlike some Mexican chocolates - with bourbon/vanilla and burnt malt. Not dry, but not sticky. Amburana, heat and toasted malt provide bitter to hold down sweet. It is incredibly delicious. Almost dessert beer.

Superficial sample from Gunnfryds ticker party. Black body under a fine, dense beige head. Aroma has dark malt, tonka, vanilla, coconut, cinnamon and alcohol. Taste is sweet, dark malt, lots of coconut, tonka, vanilla, soft wood and surprisingly mild and warming alcohol. Fine body with long lasting aftertaste. Very nice, even with this amount of coconut taste.

Bottle. A dense dark beige head leaves lacing over an almost black body. The aroma has a good dash of cinnamon, borderline tonka, with alcohol, coffee and roasted malts. Dark chocolate, roasted malts and a vague herbal hint. It's full-bodied, pleasantly warming, sweet and with a light herbal bitterness. Dark chocolate, cinnamon, coffee and burnt malt notes. Coconut, roasted malts, herbs and some oat biscuit. Lasting finish. Not often I taste a beer that handles the ABV this good. Vinous, but far from boozy. Sure a delicious one. 230422

Taster showing black with sparse latte colored foam.
The nose shows moderately intense notes of baking spice - cinnamon, cloves, and light nutmeg. Hints of bourbon.
The palate is well carbonated and light bodied by slick. Light to moderate sweetness with the a moderate baking spice forwardness on a strong bourbon background. Tequila-like bitterness on the finish that seems to go on for a bit.
